• trying to move wp development site to root of localhost, by creating a separate wordpress folder, copy and pasted the entire site into the new folder, then copied the .htaccess and index.php files back into the root … somehow this wasn’t done properly.

the new “wordpress” folder now has a fresh install of wordpress after yielding “no database connection” .. the old folder has the only copy of all content and child-theme development, but access serves up a site that has no text, some images, unstyled navigation and no access to the admin panel.

don’t want to do anything to lose the site in its evolved form. there is no DB backup. don’t want to lose work. any suggestions?
