• Hi there.

I am having some trouble installing wordpress on my server, which uses phpmyAdmin 2.6.4

When I go to Direct Admin, I click on the “MySQL Management” under “Your Account”. I then “Create New Database”, and enter in “Blog” for Database Name, and “John” for database UN (Along with passwords). Is this all I ahve to do to create the database?

I edited my “Wp-config.php” file correctly, and uploaded everything into the site, but I still get the “Error establishing a database connection” message.

If anyone is able to help, it is greatly appreciated.

If you need anymore info or clarification on what I am doing, feel free to request.

(step 2) and see if that helps a bit on the db stuff?

Here is the problem.. I get to the “Click the Home icon in the upper left to return to the main page, then click Privileges. If a user relating to WordPress does not already exist in the list of users, create one” stage, and on my phpMyAdmin control panel, it says “No privaleges”

No priveleges as in you can’t see or change anything on the “Priveleges” page? That would mean you probably need to contact your host to either have them create the user/permissions for you or give you more authority.

It seems that in the 2.6.4 version – certain options are changed or missing – is there an updated version of this tutorial?
