How to make one-column page template full-width

I’ve seen plenty of posts on this, but none of them answer my question and all of them seem to be in closed threads. It’s a simple question: How can I make the single-column page template in Twenty-Ten full-width? I’ve royally fouled up the code on the template from trying to follow the instructions on the other threads…..please help!
