There seems to be an issue when trying to create submenus using Product Categories within WooCommerce.
When Using the Product Categories, only one item is listed for the parent category in the submenu.
This same item is listed under all the other parent categories in submenus where this plugin is activated.
It seems that the plugin can’t delineate between the different parent categories and is listing the one product it recognizes across all of the parent categories.
I did verify the category structure and it all checks out.
Is there a possible solution to fix the plugin?

Please upgrade to the latest version 0.2.3 as this contains a fix to menu taxonomy issues.

Let me know if this has sorted out your issue.

    Step in the right direction…
But, now there seems to be a problem with the way it displays the items.
No matter what level in the taxonomy hierarchy I wish to branch a submenu off from, it always creates the submenu beginning with the top level taxonomy.
For example… Menu A should create a submenu beginning with Submenu B, instead it starts with the top level (Menu A).

    Menu A
    Menu A
    Submenu B
    Submenu C

No matter where I decide to branch off a submenu, it always creates it starting with Menu A.

Does my example make any sense? I tried my best to describe it lol

Just to clarify is this using the menu widget to display a section of the menu?

    Yes.
JC Submenu -> Populate from taxonomy -> Taxonomies (product_cat)

No matter what level of the product category hierarchy I choose to branch a submenu from, it always populates beginning with the absolute top level rather than below the selected level.

I am currently improving the functionality of the menu widget, the next release v0.3 is almost ready, just finalizing the code now and should hopefully be uploaded later on today.

    Awesome.
This widget has HUGE potential and I love where it’s going.
    Keep up the great work!

I have added a split menu widget, you can now choose the menu, menu starting level, and depth of display.

This is just an initial version of the split menu widget, so please let me know if you encounter any problems.

The widget pretty much defeats the purpose of your original plugin… It’s not integrated into the menu system.
The problems still exist… This plugin simply doesn’t work properly if at all with WooCommerce product categories :/
Are you using WooCommerce in your test environment?

Maybe I’m missing something… Perhaps a screen share would help, so we can go through it together?

Sorry i thought i had fixed your problem with displaying product categories / products in the menu.

Just to make sure i have quickly recorded a youtube video of setting up a menu to show a list of recent products and another to show product categories (using the woocommerce test data from their plugin folder).

Do you have a link to you website where it isn’t working? so i can have a look.

    Hi,

I was looking for a plugin that would automatically build my Hierarchial menu from Woocommerce Product Categories. However the plugin doesn’t add any sub items at all to my menu. I am using the the Flatsome Theme.

    Hi jmccann,

Currently this plugin does not the ability to work alongside Megamenu due to conflicting methods of output. JC Submenu will work only when no other plugins or functions customise the menu.

I am unable to test this as you are using a premium theme but you have the ability to override the themes menu output with JC Submenus methods.

    Hi jcollings,

I have installed your plugin and love it!

I am following along with osalcedo and know exactly what he is trying to convey to you, because I am looking for the same functioning of your software.

Basically if you have a similar code in Populate from taxonomy as the Populate from post type whereby we choose the Taxonomies of product_cat and then have a Terms choice which will allow us to populate the taxonomy from just that Term (woocommerce product category) and not the entire structure of every category available.

I was tinkering with /views/edit.php and was able to get a Terms box to show in the Populate from taxonomy, but upon execution, it still pulls the entire list of product categories.

Does what I explain make sense? Does it help understand what osalcedo is asking as well?

    Any thoughts on this possibility?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I have now added the ability (version 0.5.4) to set the parent term to populate taxonomies from (hopefully this is what you had in mind).

I have just noticed that the field is labeled terms, this will be changed in the next release but for now just select the parent term you wish to display terms from.

Please let me know if you come across any bugs when using this plugin.
