What happened to my front page?

Don’t panic!

Can you get to the WP Dashboard still (url/wp-admin/)?

If so, go to Settings/Permalinks and select Post name then Save Changes.

Then Visit Site and let us know if that has worked.

Yes, I can still get there. The point is, the front page really isn’t supposed to point to *any* page. Before, it just showed the latest posts below the slider and featured pages. This was no problem because I don’t have any posts, only pages.

In addition, as far as I know when you install Customizr, it defaults to “your latest posts” and works just fine. Now, it quit working for some reason. That’s the real problem here. I have returned the website to its original configuration so as not to disturb the original post with the troubleshooting info.

Front Page can point to either a Static Page or your Latest Posts. So there are a few combinations that can be set (Home & Blog refer to Pages):

1) Front page displays: Don’t show any posts or page

2) Front page displays: your latest posts =Displays posts

3) Front page displays: A static Page
Posts page: –Select–
Front page: –Select– =Displays posts

4) Front page displays: A static Page
Posts page: –Select–
Front page: Home =Displays static page

5) Front page displays: A static Page
Posts page: Blog
Front page: –Select– =Displays posts

6) Front page displays: A static Page
Posts page: Blog
Front page: Home =Displays static page

If you have no posts, then Option 4 should work. Can you confirm that before any further diagnosis.

Well, that’s the thing: I don’t want the home page to show anything at all other than the slider and featured pages. It’s just fine that way. There isn’t a “home” page, it’s just advertising to get people to click on one of the “read more” links.

And attractive advertising it is, I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on the Customizr theme. I have to keep telling people I didn’t write it myself!

Well, fine. I just created a post consisting of nothing but
and pointed the front page selection there. I still maintain that it was working fine with nothing selected and I didn’t change anything, before something unknown changed and made it act this way.
