Can't open site – "warning: cannot modify header information…"

  • I can’t login or even open my site. When I type in https://www.topofbroadwaycbd.org,or https://www.topofbroadwaycbd.org/wp-admin, I am getting this messsage:

    #front-columns { text-align:center; }
    Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/85/11613985/html/wp-content/themes/mantra/admin/custom-styles.php:323) in /home/content/85/11613985/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 875

    I can’t get past this point to even see my site, just a blank page and this message.

    I think I made a mistake in custom css trying to center column headers on my presentation page. Clearly, I don’t do this for a living!

    Theme is Mantra

  • “Cannot modify header information” it usually happens when there is whitespace or echo before session. your css or theme is printing “#front-columns { text-align:center; }” my first guess. as you said you made changes to your css try to tidy up look for/remove any white space. also you can try replacing the files or re-update wordpress. use FTP replace wp-admin, wp-include ect (except wp-content folder) with a fresh download.

    Got it. Corrected it through FTP: Themes, Mantra, Custom-styles. Whew!Thanks so much!!!
