Changing of mysql password – wordpress installation itself

  • When we try to connect to your SQL database we get this error:
    Connect Error (2000) mysqlnd cannot connect to MySQL 4.1+ using old authentication

    Basically that error means that your password was created with an old password format and the only way to get it to connect would be to change your password which would switch it to the new password format.

    I got this message from our hosting support. Is it safe to change mysql password?
