• Hi all,

I’m working on a plugin to add a password field on the comments form, to prevent that someone not me and not logged in posts a comment with my username (as I haven’t seen any plugin to do this). Using the action hook “add_action('comment_form', 'my_add_pwd_field');” puts the field at the bottom of the form, even below the submit button. Is there any way without using javascript to make this field appear just below the username input?

Or does someone some plugin or anything to prevent someone to post a comment with my username?

    Thanks in advance.

  • you could just require all folks to register and log in, in order to comment if it’s that big a problem.

Nope, the big problem is just that I don’t want nobody to post a comment using a staff username. The blog is from a company where the staff publish posts and all the world should be allowed to comment.

BTW, the plugin is nearly finished now, just lacks of decent documentation and a user-friendly interface in the admin panel. The password field is placed at the bottom of the form and with javascript it is rearranged below the author field (and the tabindex for the form is created/rearranged). For me this is not the ideal situation, but I think it’s the unique :_(

Now, another question that I’ll be fighting in the near future: Is there some way to log in when a registered user posts a comment (introducing his/her username and password)?
