• Last week I updated a client site to wp 3.6. All was well and she has posted 4 blog posts since then.

Today she went to log in and both wp-admin and wp-login are redirecting to not_found. No changes have been made to the site since last week.

I tried to access wp-admin (and wp-login) from my computer using FF, Chrome and Opera – none were successful.

    1. disabled the plugins via cpanel, cleared the cache – still not working
    2. physically removed the plugins via cpanel (there wasn’t many anyway) – still not working
    3. Downloaded a fresh copy of wp 3.6 and deleted/replaced everything except the wp-content folder

The site now is running just a basic WordPress with no plugins and the Twentytwelve theme but wp-admin and wp-login are not found.

I’m stumped – where do I go from here?

  • Hope this should start working now

Click on link to your log in page

    https://www.sljassociates.co.uk/wp-login.php?p3hkygemghsjbvt6pohlj&redirect_to=/wp-admin/

Make sure you create log in link for your site.

Thank you site123 – but before I click anything and enter usernames and passwords I’d want to know what the p3hkygemghsjbvt6pohlj is bit and why it’s needed at all.

All that is there is a basic wordpress setup with a basic wp theme and no plugins. Why has the auto redirect stopped working and how do I get it working again?

Sorry for being so untrusting, I’m sure you understand why I am asking these questions and not taking things at face value ??

All I did was put ” /login ” after your url and it started working.

If you are not sure, instead of clicking the link just type “/login ” after your website URL.

I did not do anything technical.

You can modify password and redirects as you need to.
