• Hey all,

On my site I recently added DEMOCRACY, to add a poll to the sidebar.

After doing so though, I noticed that the sidebar is falling way down below my blog when viewed in IE.

When viewed in Safari and Firefox though everything is A-OK.

Any ideas on how I could go about fixing this?

BTW the site is here! https://www.japannewbie.com

    Any and all help appreciated!

  • Couple of ideas: Try fixing your validation errors (helps discount them as a cause, too). Don’t bother supporting IE<=6 OR shrink all your images (I suspect your images are ‘pushing’ the sidebar down in IE).

For example though, even when I view a page with no huge images…

I still get thhe sidebar pushed down the side in IE, and not in Firefox or Safari…

    This is strange!

I also tried commenting out Democracy! And still couldnt get it to go.

    Any other ideas?

Hey I got it. The adsense link unit on the top of my page was bleeding across into the sidebars territory. I switched to a horizontally shorter adsense link unit format, and the problem went a way.

That page has validation errors that can effect positioning and still has the same large image (KitKat).
