htaccess deleted! how to do a new one?

  • hi! im having problems with permalinks to work using /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ , so someone said to delete the htaccess which i did, but it didnt work at all, instead it is giving more bugs. Anyway now i need to know how to create a new htaccess and what data i should add it.

  • just open notebook, insert a space, save the file as .htaccess.txt, upload it to the wp main directory, rename it to .htaccess, and done is done!

    All you have to do then is update the permalinks. Maybe you have to chmod the .htaccess to 666 to rewrite it. But after rewriting, just chmod it back to 644
