Gallery name in Greek and image filename in Greek not showing. Encoding problem

    @apostolos: Can you confirm that your uploads are working fine on other image files? I want to diagnose whether the issue here is a general upload issue, or honestly something specific to the Greek filename?

    @photocrati: The WordPress built in upload is working fine with Greek names.
    The problem occurs from the fact that when I upload a photo with name e.g. Αθ?να.jpg (Athens.jpg) NextGen Gallery uploads the file with the name %ce%b1%ce%b8%ce%ae%ce%bd%ce%b1.jpg instead of Αθ?να.jpg
