fake post “authors”?

I think you’d be better off with multiple account and using Role Manager (https://redalt.com/wiki/Role+Manager), but that’s just me. You could use a custom field and have these authors add their ‘name’ to that custom field each time they make a submission, but that seems like a rather tedious step to ask these many different authors to make…go with distinct accounts. There’s a lot less hoops to jump through if you ask me.

I appreciate your suggestion, but distinct accounts just wont be feasible in this situation. Can you tell me how I can implement a custom field, though? That seems to be just what I am looking for.

Stealing from Otto42, use this sort of code snippet:
