Don't understand usage

I have both Eazyest Gallery and Eazyest Slides installed. If I create a new post in wordpress and add the shortcode [eazyest_responsive_gallery] and then view the post, all I see is the text of the shortcode. It is not being interpretted.
I am new to wordpress, and don’t fully understand shortcodes, but they seem fairly straightforward… Any help would be appreciated.
