I would like to display a certain category (let’s call it ‘Front’) on my front page. Right now I have everything displaying there. How can I modify the Loop so that only posts in the category ‘Front’ display on the front page? Thanks

Thanks that helped a lot – 2 follow-up questions though

    1. can I get it to not display ‘Archives for the Front category’ at the top?

    2. I was using custom query string to limit the number of posts on the front page, but now they are not limited again. Is there any way that I can reimpose a limit on the posts that appear on the front page but NOT limit the posts on the archive page for the Front category?

thanks again Handy, you’ve been a lot of help.

    1) Is that coming from your theme? Hard to say without a link, but that sounds like what is typically at the top of a sidebar.

    2) By “custom query string” do you mean this plugin? https://mattread.com/projects/wp-plugins/custom-query-string-plugin/ ? I’d think it could still be used to get you the post counts you want.

    1. yes, it is part of the theme for the archive pages, but I would rather not have it display on the front page – is there any way around this without removing it from the archive page as well?

    2. I figured this one out (used ‘showposts=6’)
