What colours are you thinking for the first 3 points?

I’m a total Newbie with WordPress but that said I found the page and the box where I could change the type color of the Header. I changed it to #2a2b17. To me this created the result of still seeing the text well enough before the hover and then having it look just great (to me) during the hover. I’d like all the other words on the page to be the same color … so that HOME (in the upper right corner) and any other Page(s) I add and everything that is below the “circle posts” meaning below the +/- including the search box also behaves that same way … visible enough until the hover and really clear and visible during the hover but still subtle enough, too. I do love this Template.

#1. I’m running the most current version of WordPress.
#2. I don’t have a “Custom CSS Manager” option on my Dashboard or if it’s there I totally do not know where to look for it.
#3. I do find the words, “Custom CSS Manager” is when I click on Plugins after I get to my Dashboard. There, I have the choices Settings/Deactivate/Edit. When I click on Edit which is what felt right, I see code which looks like it’s setup and error correction code … checking for PHP version, etc. I’m feeling to click on Edit and copy and paste the code you’ve (so very kindly) given me there … but where, relative to the ?> before it, or after it? Everything matters so I’m presuming this matters, too. BTW I found another of your posts on CSS Specificity, thank you. I love StarWars and Poker so your way of teaching works great for me.

Well I figured after clicking Post to you on that last one that it had to go after the ?> so that’s where I put it, then Saved the Updates. And it seemed to work, except for the “HOME” in the upper right hand corner which remains barely visible. Suggestions?

Also can you tell me how I can change the order of the posts? I thought I could change the post dates in the permalinks and that would change the order the posts appear on the screen but it didn’t or maybe I did it wrong. Right now I seem to have two options, for posts to go by date in either ascending or descending order. But that’s not what I want, I want to change the positioning of what will ultimately be 15 posts on the Home page. I figure one way is to delete everything and enter them again in the order I want but yowzers I would much prefer finding another way. Also I want the 15 posts to always be on the home page (until I may choose to change them) so I presume I can choose to have the page be STATIC after I’ve finished building it, is that correct? Please advise.

Wow I don’t see this page at all!!! I downloaded CSS, installed it (and it said okay) and activated it, but I don’t see the page linked to below, anywhere on my site!!!

I recommend deleting that plugin’s folder, downloading and installing it again (or installing through the dashboard). When it’s re-installed you should see the proper part of the dashboard for your CSS.

Great minds, Andrew! I realized after our last exchanges that through my own ignorance I completely destroyed the main navigational instructions for the entire web-site rendering it inaccessible to me or anyone else. I couldn’t get to the Dashboard at all. I contacted the hosting company (GoDaddy) and after going through a lot of reps who heard “WordPress” and told me they couldn’t help, I finally found someone who realized all I wanted was to be taught how to restore the site to it’s previous rendition before I installed the CSS plugin. I explained it was in the CSS plugin that I had made the change fatal to the site’s navigation. They kept refusing to help and I made a stink so I finally got to someone in “Advanced Technical Support” who understood what I was saying and asking for immediately and did it for me right away. He put the site back into the state it was in after I added the code in not only the wrong place but the worst possible place, but before I had clicked on update. So I was able to locate it and delete it. I’ve indeed learned a great deal in the past 24 hours. I’ve learned how to restore the site completely. I’ve learned exactly how and when GoDaddy backs up sites hosted with them. I’ve learned to ask for screen shots for what a successful result looks like. I’ve learned it makes a huge difference WHERE you put things in CSS. So yes, I’ll install it again. If you would be so kind, please send me the screen shot (again) of what the CSS Manager should look like AFTER it’s properly installed? Thanks for being there!
