disable reszie in Photon

Photon tries to use the original image that has not already been resized by WordPress. That means it is using this image which is 2.8MB:

To get to this 80KB version using the resize query parameter:
https://i1.wp.com/www.madwallpaper.com/wallpapers/2013/09/leaf-wide.jpg?resize=304%2C294

Photon won’t resize images that are using a filename similar to default resized images, such as leaf-wide-304×294.jpg, but there is a planned update to use images named that way if a larger original file cannot be found:

If you’re naming images with something like “-304×294” in the filename before you upload them, you might try adjusting the name to something else to get around the issue.

So I have a better understanding of what’s happening in your case, can you tell me exactly how the resized image leaf-wide-304×294.jpg was created? Was it using WordPress’ default resizing, was it resized and compressed locally with a graphics program and then uploaded separately to your site using the filename leaf-wide-304×294.jpg, or something else?

Regarding the resize parameters, there is not a way that I know of to remove those but there is a planned update to make it so full size images added via wp_get_attachment_img_src() don’t get the parameters added. See https://plugins.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/1934

It looks to me like the difference in size is due to the difference in sizing/compression settings on the two separate servers.

Photon won’t read the CW Image Optimizer or WP-resized version of the image. Photon takes the original image as the starting point.

That’s not possible currently.
