I had a full up and running verison of WP 2.0.1, and I deleted the default hello world post. Not sure what happened, but after I did, the Home tab and the header link stopped working they kept saying that the https://www.wolf-moon.net/wordpress/wordpress directory was not found. I tried to do a db restore adn well, it fubar’d the site, so I just did a complete reinstall.

What I have now, is I edited the main hello world post so that I didn’t take the risk of fubar’ing the site again, but it says there are 1 comment. I click it, and there are 0 comments. I go to the admin page to look at comments, and there are none. I deleted the default comment. How can I get the comment to refresh and show 0 for that post?

You can see what I mean by goin to my site at https://www.wolf-moon.net and looking at the very bottom post.

    Thanks.

  • Use phpmyadmin and empty the table for the comments in the DB.

I logged into the database using phpmyadmin, and went to the wp_comments and the browse tab was empty.. showing no comments. I did a simple test comment to my taurus post, and when I clicked the wp_comments in the db, the browse tab was selectable, and only the test comment was in it. so that is not going to do it. Anyone with any other options?

I wouldn’t mind just deleting the post all together, but last time I did, it hosed the site, and I really don’t want to redo the site again.. even if there is not much on it right now.

no one else has an idea?

no one else has a clue still?

when you deleted the post the first time, was it the only post on the site? and did you do anything else about the same time?

the reason i ask is because i’ve deleted “hello world” before and never had a problem – as long as there was another post in there.

in reality – is that ONE post with that ONE comment thing saying there’s a comment when there isn’t one REALLY a huge deal?

It is if you have OCD :o)

It’s not a huge deal no.. was just wondering if there was a way to get rid of it And no, before the reinstall, it was not the only post when I deleted the Hello world one.

I just deleted the post and the home and link url are still working.. so I’ll just give up.
