Showing A Single Post

Hi, I plan to soon take down my website and I would like to override the main index template to show a specific post. The reason being instead of just htmling it is because I want people to be able to comment on the post.

So the question is, is there a way to include/insert a post like the way the Wp-Poll mode can insert a poll into a post using a tag like [poll=<id>]? Thanks in advance.
