Firefox Pinned Tabs Sessions Expiring

  • Hi All,

    For the past few months I have been getting frequent messages when trying to close my browser that my Sessions have Expired on my Pinned Tabs that I have on Firefox.

    This seems to have coincided with upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, but I can’t find out why that would change anything as I am using the same internet setup as before.

    I am up to date with Firefox and as mentioned this has been happening since before the 3.6 update so I am ruling that out.

    Could I be missing something really obvious?

    Sorry, I should have made clear, the three pinned tabs are all WordPress Tabs. Other pinned tabs don’t present the same issue.

    The WordPress installs log out and I see a Login Popup Under a Windows Popup. I didn’t get a screen Grab when it happened earlier today, and it it very random as to when it happens.

    I do apologise for the ambiguous nature of my original post. I am trying to narrow down the issue and I believe the issue could stem from WordPress.

    Sounds more like a hosting issue to me. Have you spoken to your hosts about it?

    I haven’t spoken to them specifically about this issue, but have been in contact with them recently over an issue with Akismet and they assured me that there had been no recent changes.

    I will head back to them and see if there is anything that they can shed any light on.

    Thanks. If I get some kind of resolution from my Host (or elsewhere) I’ll come back and close this thread down.. hopefully, by the end of the week.

    When you do speak to them, see if you can get them to check the server’s session handling. In the meantime, disable any add-ons in Firefox to see if that helps. Also see if you can replicate the issue in another browser – IE, Chrome or Opera etc.

    Just as an update to this problem, I haven’t been able to recreate the problem in Chrome, but I have been very busy with other problems since I posted last.

    This morning the Session Expired message reappeared on all three blogs that are pinned in Firefox. This time I was awake enough to get a screen grab of the messages that actually appear when it happens:

    I haven’t heard back from my host yet re the session handling, but as I mentioned, I haven’t been able to chase him down as I have been busy.
