    Mark,

As far as I can tell, we’re not getting any articles via the Google news links/sources we set up. Not knowing any better, we set up three different links with one keyword each, which creates links for news.google.com.

In the training video, it seems the links shown in the window are RSS feeds from Google alerts. As I understand it, Google is no longer providing such feeds.

So what is the right way to do this and how can I confirm it’s working?

    thanks, Jan

Relatedly, do you have any suggestions for working around sites without RSS feeds–eg, Bloomberg?

You can check by going to the Logs menu item. You will see an entry for every article found by MyCurator. The Source column will tell you which feed it came from. Look for the name of your Google News Feeds in this column to see if any articles were found in the feed.

If you choose Process from the drop down named Activity, you will see a list of all of the feeds processed in the background. You should see your feeds in the URL field here. This log is much shorter to look through, but it only tells you if the feed was read, not if any articles were processed.

There are many sites that you can use to convert a web page to a feed. You could take a sites ‘front page’ of new articles and have it output a feed. Here is a great list from Robin Good on web pages to feeds.

They can be a bit techy, but worth a try.
