Rating set in Editor Page not showing up in post

I select the Multi Rating category then fill out the rating of the post, but the rating doesn’t show up on the post — only the empty stars show up. I clear the post and try again–nothing.
I straight forward option would work like the manual excerpt — if a rating exists from the post edit page, it overrides the auto-inserted rating.
And if global auto insert is turned off, the individual post rating should be insertable with a short code at a click of a button, but I don’t see a short code other than the one on the WYSIWYG editor — and this one inserts A BLANK rating as well.
The standard Post Review rating box in the upper right corner is meaningless.
Such a good plugin marred by farty logic.
I’m looking forward to the solution.
