• I’ve searched the forums abit and found plenty on the oldest version WordPress 2.03 supports, but nothing about the latest version supported.

I have to start from scratch after an OS upgrade gone wrong (worst.day.ever) and have thought about using MySQL 5.0.22, PHP 5 and Apache 2. Empasis on thinking. I’m a bit afraid of Apache 2 and have reservations about PHP 5…oh, heck it is all nervous nellying me.

Any suggestions thoughts or should I just keep my power dry with Apache 1.3 and the 4.x series of MySQL and PHP. Many thanks.

  • I’ve installed wordpress on a Debian machine that grabs the latest versions (in Debian testing) of the three daily and never had a problem so far. I had to shut the machine down for the summer though, so possibly anything after June may (but probably won’t) have some issues.

It works fine with the latest versions of all three. I recommend using those latest versions, in point of fact.

I am using following softwares on Windows XP SP2
    Apache 2.2, PHP5.2, WordPress2.0.3, MySQL 5.0.

Except for wordpress everything else works fine. I get wp-config.php missing error for which I have started a separate post.
