• Hi

I am writing this post out of sheer frustration. For the last 5 weeks I have been experiencing a problem on my site that is also affecting how it is run and so far all that’s been going on is everyone is just passing the bucket without actually helping.

Currently I am experiencing menu limitations so when I add a new menu item one item drops off so instead of just adding the item to the current menu, it adds the ‘new’ item but takes off an ‘older’ menu item. I work with a number of brands on my site so I need a brand guide which can be endless and it needs to be able to take additions without deleting anything off. My research revealed that I need to adjust standard settings so I got in touch with my host (GoDaddy) and even got in touch with the site designer and all they do is pass the blame so I have been unsuccessful in getting this problem sorted out.

Is there anyone here who can help me fix this problem please? I am shocked and absolutely appalled at the lack of support there is for this sort of thing – surely there are hundreds of other people out there with the same problem?

I look forward to hearing from you!

  • Are you using a non-default WordPress theme? (a default wordpress theme would be Twentytwelve or Twentythirteen themes – the ones that come with a default WordPress install).

It may a theme limitation. Try enabling a default WordPress theme and see if that fixes your menu issues. If so, consider building a Child Theme off of a default theme.

That being said, what’s the upper limit for the amount of menu items you have?

This posting here on menu size limits may also be of interest (it’s a PHP limitation, not WordPress).
