User Management

  • OK I am buffled.

    It is obviously either something that is right in front of my eyes.. or it just doesn’t exist.

    I am trying to find a plugin for user management.
    You know … registration form, signup form, sending confirmation emails, role management…

    I have found many plugins dealing with alreay registered users, on one or multiple sites. I also found a plugin that I thought was what I wanted “participants database”, but that was not “IT”.

    I am very new to WP so I believe that there is not such a plugin out there because I don’t know what to search for, or because it just doesn’t exist because it is already embedded in WP?

    I just can’t find a plugin that will allow me to accept data from users and approve their registration or not. There are plugins that allow you to approve or not approve, but do not allow you to create a form to accept data from a user.

    I found the plugin “Users Manager” which is not in the list of WP plugins. It’s on an external site…

    Since it’s on an external site, I am reluctant to acces it.

    Does anyone know what am I looking for?
    What I should search for?
    Or the plugin that will allow me to accept user dat and registrations?

  • I would guess Theme My Login is about as close to all-in-one as you might get if you are able to customize its registration page to prompt for user input:

    It seems that this is very close to what i was looking for!
    It even allows the administrator to approve the members of the site.

    However,
    I would like to ask for specific fields during registration in my site.
    How can I set the fields asked during registration process?

    I don’t think that Theme My Login, allows me to do that?

    Is there something which is by default on WP that allows me to do that?
    Do I need a plugin?

    Also… how do I set the registration link, on the default entry screen of wp?
