Gallery created, images uploaded – but where are they

I can create a new gallery and I can upload images to that gallery, at least – that is what nextgen is showing. But the created gallery is nowhere and the images are nowhere. No errormessage – after uploading the image nextgen says: 1 image uploaded – but nothing happens. There is no new folder on the server and the images are not on the server or in the gallery.
Permission on the server are okay – it always worked, till the last update.
What can be wrong?
