132 continuous backups

    Yesterday I updated wordpress to 3.6.1 and also updated my plugins which included updraftplus. Everything had been working great with the plugin up to that point, so thank you for that.

    However, today I get 132 emails saying my site was successfully backed up. I logged in and sure enough the last 20 backups are all from today over a 13 minute time period. I am backing files up daily retaining 5 backups and database also daily retaining 20.

    I am just backing up to my server, not FTP or anything. The timestamp of the backups on the email confirmations I got show that this was happening for about 50 minutes.

    That sounds like possibly too many backups, even for the ultra-cautious!

    What version of UpdraftPlus are you running?

    Same thing is happening to me! Has been every night for the past few days —?sometimes less (maybe a dozen) sometimes more (over 100 last night) — but I think it may have been started around the time of by the upgrade to the latest 3.6.1 WordPress version possibly? Unsure.

    UpdraftPlus Version 1.7.20 installed here.

    I’m running the latest free version.
    I run it on a bunch of my sites and yesterday was maintenance day. I updated all editions of WP and plugins which included updraftplus. There is only one site out of the bunch that this happened with. I’ll make you a login and PM it to you. Thanks!

    Oh ok. By tweaks I guess you meant you tweaked the development version. I thought you meant you had tweaked something in my plugin setting. Perfect, thanks!

    Hi both,

    How did your backups go last night – just one, or many?

    We’ve had this problem reported 3 times now (from around 20,000 downloads of UD), so are keen to get a positive report as to whether the fix works, before we get any more!

    Mine sent just 1 email as well! Appears whatever you did worked! Will update if the issue re-appears in the coming days at all.
