Making Featured posts appear first in search results

I’m currently developing a WordPress site with a custom post type called “Hotels,” with certain hotels marked as featured.

However, when I call a search for this custom post type, the results appear in chronological order, based on when each result was created.

How can I ensure that the featured posts appear at the top of a search, regardless of how old they are?
