    Hi,

The Google Chrome inspector shows a correct path indeed, but the server returns a 500 error. This means an internal server error occurred while loading the image. Google Chrome mentions an error with the “URL Rewrite Module”.

Did you upload the image through the uploader on the slideshow page, or did you upload it through the WordPress media page? If you uploaded it through the image uploader on the slideshow page, please try if uploading it through the WordPress media page works. If this doesn’t work either, there’s a bug in your URL redirecting/rewriting file.

    Best regards,
    Stefan

    Hello Stefan,

I upload images using the WP Media Uploader. I have never tried to do it with the Slideshow Upload. I know exactly what the problem is. It has to do with permissions and Word Press.

This is problem I am having read through it seems like others are to:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/images-uploading-but-not-showing-1?replies=6

This plugin was suppose to fix it but it didn’t:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/change-uploaded-file-permissions/

What is happening is when I upload an image using WP Media Uploader Word Press is create like 3 or 4 images of the uploaded image at different sizes and it is changing the image permissions which are blocking the image from showing. Now when I go back in to my Server and grant write & modify permissions back to the folder/images the images show up fine again.

Now Installed that plugin above and did everything it said to but it still not working. WP is still changing permissions on upload. Normally I wouldn’t care I would just FTP the images to my server but this sites for a client and I can’t ask a client to go through this to add images to a slideshow. Just doesn’t look professional!

So do you have any other suggestions or work arounds that I could try? Thanks again for your help!!

    Hi,

I’m terribly sorry, this really is an issue with the server and its file permissions. The slideshow plugin can’t do anything about this, as the server denies anyone from trying to view the images.

I hope you’ll be able to resolve the issue. From what I understand of Windows servers is that file permissions can be changed by server administrators.

    Best regards,
    Stefan

Do you know of another plugin that could upload files to the back-end and be used with your Slideshow?

Never mind Stefan I was able to fix it. The problem was PHP running on a Windows Server would upload the files to the Windows Temp folder and then once the upload was complete it would copy it over to the upload folder in WP. The problem was when it went to copy it from the windows temp folder it changed the permissions causing the image not to show up on the slideshow.

If anyone needs help with this you can find the help here: https://www.sharepointalex.co.uk/index.php/2010/06/fixing-wordpress-image-upload-on-a-windows-server-permissions-problem/

Keep this in mind encase you run in to this problem with someone else using your Slideshow!! Great product by the way and thanks for all your hard work!!

That’s great to hear! I’m glad you like the slideshow.
