Product URL ends in “/?SingleProduct=1” instead of search-friendly URLs. I think this plugin has a ton of potential – it’s exactly what we are looking for – except we need search-friendly URLs if we are to use it. Aside from a few glitches, which others have addressed, this is the biggest issue so far.

Any URL improvements expected in the near future….? Or is it already possible and I’m not just seeing the setting?…

How SEO friendly are we talking? I could change it to ?SingleProduct=ProductName pretty easily, but anything more in-depth would be difficult as different sites have different permalink structures.

Hey what’s up! Thanks for replying.

Honestly anything is better than it is now. At least have an seo-friendly slug field that lets people create their own keyword-rich URL.

If I were you, I would actually weigh in very heavily on SEO and make it a point to really get in depth with it. It’d be a huge selling point. Could even offer it as an add-on for the pro version. The friendlier you can make the directories, the better. Google tends not to like having query strings and what not in the URL as much as just straight directories. I know it’s more work – but it would seriously give this plugin an edge.

That – and emphasize responsiveness / mobile compatibility. And make it easier to integrate with themes.

… actually I have about a million ideas for you (that’s what people hire me for) if you ever wanted to chat. I definitely think you’ve got potential with this if you play your cards right. A good non-ecommerce catalog plugin like this is certainly in need!

    Keep at it!

PS – sorry – ignore my comment about making it easier to implement into themes. I was thinking about another plugin there. Your plugin is integrating fine. But I meant everything else I said! ??

    Thanks again.

Thanks for the tip. I think I will go with a slug option with a disclaimer about it only working with permalink structures that end in a forward slash.

In terms of releasing the next version, I was originally aiming for today, but it’s looking like sometime early next week at this point.

Fantastic plugin – it’s just what I’ve been looking for – thanks!

Is a permalink plugin required to make the SEO-friendly URLs work though? I’m using the WordPress built-in “Post Name” option for Permalinks, which does end in a forward slash, but I’m still getting a 404 error when I click on a product for details.

Links work fine as long as I don’t use “Pretty Permalinks” – but, like Widemind, I really need the SEO-friendly urls ??

    Cheers!

    Hi Chaco,
The pretty permalinks in version 2.0.1 stop working after a bit of time because of a logical flaw in the plugin. It’s been fixed in version 2.1 which should hopefully be out this afternoon, so please let us know if you’re still having trouble with them after the update!

    Fantastic – thanks!

I’ll check it out this afternoon! ??
