Hi, Demorden. Thanks for your questions and suggestion.

    1. I’ve got it running with 62 other plugins with no compatibility issues.

    2. It’s pure php, so it will work on every computer. I haven’t tested it with bbpress or buddypress yet. I’ll get back to you on that.

    3. As per your request, I’ve just updated the plugin to version 1.1. You can now use the “username=” attribute, either by itself, or in combination with any of the other attributes, to filter out users by their specific user logins. See the updated description for details and examples.

A quick followup, Demorden, re: BuddyPress and BBPress. The eyesonly plugin has no compatibility issues on a test site running both BuddyPress and BBPress. The [eyesonly] shortcode works on all pages, posts, advanced text widgets, etc., but, at this time, the shortcode does not work in BP or BBP forums. Again, it does work outside of the forum environment with BP and BBP installed.

I hope that answers your question. Let me know if you have any further.

Just wanted to let you know that you’ve done a very good job on this!!! ^_^
And the UI of the eyesonly block in post edit area is awesome!
The granularity of the access control is amazing.

And for those who use some membership plugins, the possible uses are endless.
I’m currently playing with it, I’ll let you know if I find any bugs.

Feature suggestion: if you could make it work on BBP forums and BP posts, you’d have coded the ultimate plugin for targeted/hidden content.

(In fact, I think nobody cares about BP, as it should have other means to set post privacy… but laser-targeted forum posts would be cool, as I found out on a side project of mine)

I may have found a solution for you re: BBPress. Hang on a few minutes.

Yes, I’ve found a solution. It works in _almost_ every part of BP and BBP. Definitely works in the forum posts and comments. It involves installing a different plugin, and I’ll upload a new version of mine that is compatible with the other plugin. I’ll keep you posted.

BTW: Thanks for the high praise! It’s much appreciated. Let me know if you find any bugs. I want to know about them if they’re there. Otherwise, please consider writing a review! ??

    OK, Demorden.

I’ve uploaded version 1.5. Download and install that and then carefully read the instructions in the FAQ HERE.

Then you’re all set. It will work in BP and BBP if you follow those instructions.

Please leave a nice review! ??

Thanks for your input and feedback.

I left you a 5 stars-review, I hope you appreciate its (absolutely deserved) content.
I don’t leave reviews often, but this time I felt I had to.

Not only for your good work, but also for your prompt reaction to suggestions.

Thanks very much! Greatly appreciated. Glad it is working out for you so far. Let me know if you have any more feature requests.

In fact, during the last hour, I could find another feature that would be awesome.
    Filtering by user custom fields.

I explain better (or try to):

I am building a site for my company, and I plan to let users add a lot of (optional) informations to let us know them better.

Today, I had an idea: show some content only to those that indicate that they’re our customers, and not only visitors (we sell physical goods, but plan to do some content marketing too, so we’ll have visitors who are not customers).

I have limited knowledge of user data in the db (never needed to seriously mess with that), but I guess you understood the suggestion and have an idea of how to possibly implement it.

To give you a reference, think about Gravity Forms, and its ability to make post.
There is an input that lets you set custom fields, either existing or new.

Not sure I was clear, English is not my language and -on top of that- I need to write in a hurry.

Please shoot me an email to [email protected] and we will correspond about this. I want to better understand your needs and then we will talk about what can be done. Thanks!
