Home page

Right. I follow the instructions to create a static home page Twenty Twelve. I see the word ‘home’ top left and there’s my ‘home’ in title. I don’t want the titles of the pages appearing twice. I remove the word home in my title all is good. I create two more pages – then I deleted them (for some reason – can’t remember)and I am being told I deleted my home page? ‘This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?’ with this message,. What’s the deal with home page, titles etc etc, and why can’t one delete pages without the danger of this message. This will be the second time I will have to scrap the theme and start all over again as this seems to be the only way to get my pages the way I want. I basically want 3 static pages. Home, Product, Contact But I can’t even get the home page launched ….
