Best way to create the website in different languages

Hi

I need to translate my website into different languages and I am wondering about the best way to do it. I would like to create a link “languaes” with the list of all languages supported. I have different extensions for my blog but only onto .com there is a server installed. All the others are simple re-direct. When an e-user click on the language required, I would like to redirect him to the specific index with the selected language. How can I do that? Should I create different subdirectory with the different languages where to put the related index? If so, the issue is that I will have houndreds pages in my wordpress dashboard that might create a little mess. don’t they? . Or should I install different wordpress in each subdirectory?
