Jetpack Randomly Distorting Image Size?

On my home page, I have a banner image that’s 980×426. I have Jetpack and Photon activated for Retina-friendly display.
However, on random occasions, the banner will load at a squished height of about 980×50. If I hit reload, it displays normally. This appears only to be on Safari.
Is this a known Jetpack/Photon bug?
