    I am using the Theme Displace. I customized the css but something went wrong with the layout of the 2 columns. When I move the brower window to make it larger or smaller, it appears that the 2 columns move to the left of the window and then the verticle nav bar and header (logo) bump up to the top of the page and become a horizontal bar spanning the entire page. I would like the theme to act like it is supposed to with both columns staying in place in the center of the page. I’ve tried a lot of things. Maybe the content needs to be wrapped. I tried adding the #wrap into the css but I don’t know how to add a div to the html and I don’t know php. I even changed the theme to another and then changed it back to the displace theme but it’s still doing it’s own thing. I would appreciate if someone could help me fix it. Thanks Here’s the link and if you can’t see the css I can provide that too:

  • I just viewed your site and the nav bar looks fine, the content is not wide enough and is off to the right.

    Either make content width:960px; (float:right), or make content width:700px, float:left;

    When I looked the content width was set to 32em. Em’s are fine but 32 is too narrow (1em = 16px)

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Donnie, I tried for a week to fix it. I tried almost everything and could not figure out what was wrong with it so I started over with a new one but after reading your post I was able to fix the old one. You are a genius. I can’t believe that’s all it was. I took the page width, content, and sidebar widths and reduced them all accordingly. That worked. So, thanks so much. I really appreciate it.

    The only thing is that I had to start a new blog site before I received your solution and now that one is not working properly. Nothing happens when I click on most of the buttons. The media button and none of the widget buttons work. Also, the CSS link has disapeared from the Appearance section. I’m discouraged about using WordPress.
