2 clone (installations) sites for different languages problem (Please help)

  • Hello guys please help me out please,
    I really going nuts over this and I cant figure this out.

    My problem is as follow,

    I made a site in Spanish but now I decided to make an English one without using the translator plugins, so I opted to clone the spanish site and make the second for the english. Each one have its own DB so it will not interrupt one to the other. So far everything was great as all the changes I did in one the other one was intact and still looking the same as design wise.

    The problem Im having now is that on my secondary site (Spanish) when I click menu to any page it will redirect me to the other website (english) which is located at the root domain.

    I thought that I forgot to change all the site url from the Database to the new spanish site location which is in folder /es/
    but that didnt help me.

    I need to launch this site as early of tomorrow to see if I get lucky getting over 100 clients for making them a website but so far the impressions with this problem doesnt look good at all.

    Any ideas please for me to troubleshoot this huge problem I have

  • Hello Asolis11,

    Sorry to hear the problem. Probably, the easiest thing to do is to export your Spanish database to SQL (which is a text format). Then do a search and replace for the URL that you’re having a problem with – replace the English site URLs with the Spanish one. And then re-import the database. Otherwise, you can also create a SQL query to do this – but exporting and doing a search and replace with a text editor is much simpler.

    Thanks so much for your help. I notice the problem is withing the spanish site where the problem comes from the Permalinks itself. If I set it to Post name /%postname%/ it will not recognize the pages on that site but once I set it to Default permalinks everything seen to work just fine. What could it be? I will like pretty url like postname for seo purposes but it will not just work
