WordPress recommended Plugins for any project

I have set up a wordpress blog in my local machine and wish to transfer it to webserver. I am bit concerned about the security issue and have been reading lots of blog online.

Thanks to the plugins which helps to tackle the security issue. But with lots of plugins available it’s getting difficult for me to pick the best one.

May I request you to provide a list of plugins which must ideally be used for any blog?

(Not only security plugin but overall and at the same time this set of plugin should be compatible with each other).

I understand there would be difference of opinion but still if we can get plugins listed it would be beneficial for me & further readers.
