• I know there are several plug-ins out there for creating QR codes. What I want to do you put a code on my site, so that when other people scan it, it will display everything about them that is publicly available.

I’m trying to make a point with it mainly. I want it to show their location to if they have locations services enabled.

Anyone know a specific way to do this?

I’m not following your logic. QR codes can contain any arbitrary information, though only certain content makes any sense. Let’s say I put a QR code on your site. What’s the content? It may be a vcard, or a link to my site or who knows what.

Now someone browsing your site sees my QR code. (Assuming I’m browsing your site on my phone, I’m not even sure how to extract the QR content in that context) If someone smarter than me extracts my information, it’s all about me, there is no request to your server indicating any exchange is even happening, so how are you going to display information about the user who extracted my QR information?

Some sort of request needs to be sent to your server for you to take action. I don’t see how scanning a random third party QR code would do that.

Ok. Thanks for explaining. I misunderstood a little bit about how they work I guess.
