Cannot delete sidebar from WordPress

    Hi, I’m a novice WordPress developer who’s creating a new WordPress site using a template theme.

    Today, I was experimenting with sidebars and widgets (via the respective pages of the Appearance section of the dashboard). I created a test sidebar for one of my pages (the name of which contains an apostrophe). Therefore, I named the sidebar based on the name of page, apostrophe included (e.g. Caleb’s Sidebar).

    Now, here’s the issue:

    I’m done testing and I wish to remove the sidebar. However, when I select the sidebar on the Sidebars page and click Delete Selected, the sidebar is still there. There is no message or error of any kind, and I don’t know what to do. Strangely enough, I can create a new sidebar (w/ no apostrophe in the name) and I am able to delete it without trouble.

    What can I do to delete the sidebar when it can’t be deleted normally?

    Never mind, I’ve been able to resolve the issue with some careful editing of the WordPress database. All is well now.
