Is it possible to view this theme in desktop mode on a mobile device? I see a lot of websites that when you log on with a mobile device they will give you the option to view it in mobile mode or desktop mode. Just wondered if that can be done with Virtue.

    Thanks in advance.

I happened to see this question

To my knowledge , a developer of a theme or site must declare if its theme is responsive or not.
If responsive ,the presentation on the mobile device is adapted responsively by the site CSS , to keep it readable for a user of the mobile device with a small screen.
Important for the layout presented on the device is the number of pixels the device can handle .A responsive theme with CSS reacts to device capacity of pixels and adapts the layout to keep things readable. Thats the trick. If it can not be done, it is not a responsive web design.

All this responsive efforts are made for the benefit of mobile users to keep it readable in a different layout for mobile.

So this question has nothing to do with the theme ,which is declared and functioning responsively ,but with the manufacturer of the mobile, who offers the option to choose between a fixed layout called desktop mode and a responsive one adapted to the device.

Glad I can give answer to the question , to my knowledge and contribute

    Danny,

Thanks for the response. The reason I asked is that have seen several new websites recently that when I access them via my iPhone 5 they will give me the option to view the site in Mobile View or Desktop View. It appears to be a switch or link on the actual website and not a function my phone is offering me.

Here is a link to the new Berkshire Hathaway real estate website (Warren Buffet’s new real estate company). It has a link on the first page to “Full Site” and if I click on it I get the desktop view. Not sure how it works. Was hoping this theme could do it.

Again, thanks for your prompt reply.

    Hey,
Its actually a plugin that a lot of sites I’ve seen are using. Forces a redirect with mobile phones and allows you to access the desktop version if you want.

This theme doesn’t do that. It’s responsive so even if you use the plugin to form a separate site thats loaded on mobile, when you clicked the link to “view desktop” it would show you the site in a mobile layout because it’s in the css to display based on screen size.

No matter. This is still an amazing theme. Thank you for providing it.

Does anyone have a hint for a plugin that would do this? I′m working with
WP 4.0 and Mantle theme, how can I force mobile devices to get the full desktop view (responsively working theme with the same colors and header images as in the browser version).

When entering the site with mobile device, on default the browser loads ripped version with wrong color, and in the bottom there is a link “View Full site” where I get the desired look. The URL is https://www.riikkavaltonen.com

How can I fix this so that the mobile phone automatically loads the “Desktop View” when entering the site?

Hey markuskosonen, this forum is only for questions regarding Virtue theme. I don’t know anything about Mantle theme so I can’t help you. Sorry!
