I have over 100 websites running WP 6.1 through WP 7.1… Every single website is getting this same error, even fresh installs without plugins. The complaints are filling my email inbox daily. I’ve modified my server settings, .htaccess, still no luck. I don’t know what WP did during the last few updates but it seems that they rushed these updates out too soon without proper testing.

Actually looking at other CMS systems now. It would literally take me a year to migrate all of the websites to another CMS, so I’m really hoping that WP steps in a resolves this issue. It’s a severe problem that is going to discourage their users and push people to consider other O.S. CMS.

Please post any status updates or fixes if you find them. In the meantime, I’m looking at other options for my clients. They are all extremely unhappy since the WP 6.1 update…

  • Hello Native Imaging Member,

Sorry to hear about the problem you’re having with the uploading. I was looking around to see if anyone else had a similar issue and there is this post:

    Problem Uploading New Media

The issue resolved in this post states that the WordPress Media upload directory needed to be changed. As you’re seeing this across multiple sites, it may be related to this very issue. They provide a screenshot. Check it and let us know if this helped fix your problem!

Thanx for the information although that thread isn’t related to the issue I’m having with the Media Uploader.

The files are going into the correct directories. I only had one website which couldn’t actually upload files and seems that is resolved now, but the error I
m getting is the red “Error Uploading” image message.. Once close out the media window, and save the post as a draft for the page to refresh, I can then add the images to the gallery. I’m just pointing out that even on fresh WP 3.6+ – 3.7.1, this error is occurring and it’s becoming frustrating for all of my users.

    Thanks for the help.
