remove spam users from registration

If you do not actually need or want others to have registered user accounts at your site, just delete them and un-check “Anyone can register” at Dashboard > Settings > General. Otherwise, you might send an e-mail to ask for verification of intent to register and then see whether you even get a response.

I email with a nice note. ” You have been determined to be a spam bot. If you are real, please email back within 24 hours.” I’ve sent out more than five dozen and only two wrote back. I then dis a Google search and found real posts on other sites. If I wasn’t hit hard I’d just Google them first. Of course, some are obvious spam bots by their nick or email, like [email protected]
