    Hi,

THe text in my widget says “To edit please go to Appearance > Widgets and choose 6th widget from the top in area 6 called Home Widget 1”. This seems straight forward…but..

Navigating to the page, I see the widget “Home widget 1”. But I can’t edit it. I can fold it out and see the text: “Area 6 – sidebar-home.php – Displays on the Home Page”. That’s it. How do I edit the contents?

I guess I don’t have to locate the php file and edit that?

  • It would be helpful if you mention the theme that you’re trying to use with these widgets. This is to check if we can replicate your problem.

By the way, in order to edit the widget titles as you want, you have to edit the php files. However, the functionality that you want has nothing to do with editing the php file for the widget, as far as I see.

    Well learning by doing ??

I just found out, that you need to create a new widget (like title & html) and drag it abowe the “home widget 1”, in order to change its content.

I assumed, since the widget already did have content, that my mission was to find that content and then change it. That was not the case.

Newbie mistake (or bad dashboard UX).

    Sorry: the theme is “Responsive”.
