Vary Notifications by Category

I’d like to send different notifications depending on the category the post is in, but it doesn’t look like that’s an option with this plugin… is that something you’d consider adding? I need something that will allow me to send my contributors different notifications for different categories of posts, when the post is scheduled and when it is published.
