  • Hi sasnick,

Sorry to hear you’re having some problems with the plugin. So we can narrow down what’s happening, we will need a little more information. In the WordPress Admin area under Appearance > Widgets. Do you see a MailChimp Widget button on the right side? If you don’t, and the MailChimp plugin is installed, the MailChimp widget button should be in the main section on the left side of the page. Drag it to the left to install the form.

If you’re not using the widgets are you using a shortcode? If so, where is it being inserted?

As explained (maybe not definitively), the widget button has totally disappeared both from the widget area on the left and from the widget area, that it was placed on the right

    Basically, no widget now exists

In response to your question re shortcodes – no I was not using a shortcode, I had installed the widget (which now no longer exists)

If the widget isn’t appearing as an option at all, that could indicate the plugin has been deactivated for some reason. If you head to the WordPress Admin area, then go to Plugins > Installed Plugins, is the MailChimp plugin currently active? If it’s been deactivated, then activating it again from there should bring the widget back under Appearance > Widgets.

No, the plugin has not been deactivated, but the plugin is not to be seen or found anywhere, even though it originally existed

Have you tried reinstalling the plugin? Since we don’t have access to your wordpress install, it’s hard for us to narrow down why the plugin was uninstalled. Reinstalling should add it back.

If you go to the plugins page, you should be able to search for “MailChimp” and reinstall the plugin. Also it can be manually installed by visiting this page: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/mailchimp Download the file then upload it into the plugins area in wordpress.

This page from wordpress can help with installing plugins:
