• Is there a way to do this? Let’s say my site is called site.com Basically I want to
make a page which is called Home
the url to this page should https://site.com
This home page is a static page
and its the first item in a custom menu

In a nutshell I want a static page for the home page, called home, that is the home page for my site ( the first explanation prob makes more sense. ) Thank you.

thanks but i already i know how to create a static page.
i need it to be a home page that links to the home page. guess this is more difficult than i thought/

That is exactly what a static page does.
Create a Front Page: In Pages choose Add New Page.
    Title it “Home”.
If the WordPress Theme offers an option to change the look and feel of the front page, select the Template in the Page Attributes panel box. Add content you would like to see within the content area of the static front page, or leave it blank if it is a Dynamic front page. Publish the Page.

Go to Administration > Settings > Reading panel.
Set Front page displays to a static page
In the drop down menu for Front Page select “Home.”

That ties the “home” page to your site’s url. You add it to the menu in settings, appearance, menus.

thank you exuse my typing one handed today,
prob is the link to :home gets made to something like ” site.com/home” and not “site.com

No it should link to your url, https://site.com

If it doesn’t then an error was made in creating a static page called home. Selecting a static page under settings, reading links whatever page you select to https://site.com
