• Hi,

I’m having a problem getting slider to appear on my website; brettwestmusic.com. I have the the theme settings set to show slider and to pull from my posts but I can’t get the slider to appear at all.

I’m trying to use it mostly to have a featured image on my home page. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

    thanks

  • Hey there,

This may be completely obvious but maybe it’s that simple. One, make sure it’s enabled in the theme options. Two, make sure you are pulling from a category that exists and is populated with articles that have featured images. I was a little confused at first, maybe this will help.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

thank you for your response, however my problem persists. There is still no slider on my home page. Like you said, I have multiple categories that exist and made sure that all of them have at least one featured image. Also, I’ve checked “show” slider in the theme options. I don’t know whats going on. Any more advice?

    with thanks

I have just installed the theme – which is incredible!!! And it took me a great deal of figuring out what’s the deal with the slider. First of all it works! Like many other people already confirmed (which I wasn’t sure till now). Any ways here is what you have to do.

    1. Theme options -> Slider Visualization -> Show
    2. Have a blog post configured to have a ‘Featured Image’ (for those who hasn’t realized what featured image is – like me at first – it’s the image you select to associate the post with – on the side of the add/edit post, at the bottom there is an option called ‘Featured Image’. If you don’t see it, you’d have to add it via ‘Screen Options’ at the top of the page)
    3. It doesn’t matter if you specify “Which category to pull from?” you can keep it blank (well till you learn the system anyways)
    4. THIS ONE IS WHERE I STAMBLED and I think everyone else too. Go to:
Settings -> Reading -> Front page displays : have it specified to use static page -> Front Page -> select the page
    5. That is it!!!

Slider was designed to work on landing page – which should be a page (and not a post)

    Cheers,
    Mike

    I love you mike.

Thank you so much… I don’t know how I will ever repay you…
