• hi. i have searched and searched throughout the forums here, and can’t find a solution for my specific problem.

i have a website i’ve had for 2 years. it’s built up a database with 13 tables, most of which i don’t need, relating to unused plugins and whatnot.

i just bought a new domain name, and set up a fresh installation of wordpress over there.

all i want to move from my old site are my categories, comments and posts. nothing else. but everytime i do this, for instance, try to import my wp_posts table into the database of the new site, it gives me one error after the error, saying my sql syntax is wrong, or the columns are out of order, etc. but when i import the entire database, it goes flawlessly. but then my old database overtakes my new site, with all its login, templates, urls, and unwanted tables.

can anyone tell me the easiest way to move just the wp_posts table from one site to another?
