Skype name with @hotmail.com – Unable to parse URL

Hmmm, I was not aware that skype names with @hotmail.com in them existed… Can you share a link to your website so I can see it live?

I have found that I can use the target of:

live:skype_name

instead of full email (if the live account is merged with Skype account), but using a colon also causes parser error.

Can you try your skype_name without the @hotmail.com after it?

I have tried that, but if the account is a hotmail account then the chat message will not be delivered to the destination unless the skype name is prefixed with

live:

using that prefix or

@hotmail.com

suffix will deliver the message.

Hmmm… that’s a real bummer because then I do not have any way to determine the online status of that Skype user. The plugin can tell the online status by querying the Skype server via URL’s like https://mystatus.skype.com/skypeusername.txt but https://mystatus.skype.com/[email protected] or https://mystatus.skype.com/live:skypeusername.txt both return the “404: Unable to parse URL” error you mentioned in your first post ??

If there is anyone out there that can tell me how to determine the online status for these new hotmail addresses, please let me know!

I got the same “404: Unable to parse URL”-problem with that Microsoft-Accountname for Skype.

In the skype forum I found that you can hide the colon with #3a which means that you can use the following URL to detect the status of such a user

https://mystatus.skype.com/live#3aSkypeUsername

It would be great, if you could consider this in your next update.

REMARK: Just tested again and found it does NOT work… the 404-error is gone but the status always shows “offline” ??

EDIT: sadly, I forgot already tested this method a long time ago (see last post in thread https://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/mystatus-skype-com-with-Live-or-Facebook-Skype-account/td-p/1877663 is mine…) and it is not usable. Microsoft refuses to fix this ??
