problems with charset?

  • hi,
    i upgraded wp from stable 1.0.2 to the yesterday′s nightly build. ok, it′s in development but i really want to test plugins and subcategories before i set up a website with wp.
    my problem: now german umlauts are displayed as rubbish.
    i think there′s a problem with the charset settings. in the template i found get_settings(‘blog_charset’); … where is it defined or where can i change it?

  • Search in the options.
    The default was changed to utf-8, so you should change it back to iso-8859-1.
    We may provide a script to translate your previous entries to utf8, but in the meanwhile it’s better to switch back to iso-8859-1 while your past entries rely on this charset.

    thanks, it works fine now.
    i saw this option but i thought utf-8 contains german umlauts.
